Position Overview
Autodesk is looking for a Senior Network DevOps Engineer to join the Global Network Engineering team. Come join us in our journey to provide our customers with a world class SAAS platform, enabling imaginative and industry changing Autodesk products.
We are looking for passionate engineers who are fascinated by cloud networking, automation, AI-driven operations, and the technologies behind the Internet, data centers, and cloud computing. The ideal candidate combines strong networking fundamentals with modern DevOps practices, cloud architecture expertise, infrastructure automation, software development skills, and technical leadership. This role is responsible for helping define and drive Autodesk's global cloud networking, automation, and infrastructure engineering strategy.
The team is crucial to the design & deployment of a consistent, stable infrastructure that both meets network engineering design standards and product goals. As a member of the Network Engineering Team, you will maintain advanced networking and security technologies. You will troubleshoot, implement, and improve standards, implementations, and procedures related to cloud and networking technologies, including but not limited to AWS, Azure, LAN/WAN, cloud connectivity, load balancers, firewalls, and network automation platforms. You will participate in cross-team and organizational projects, designing, documenting, and implementing new, secure, and automated networking solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Improve and engage in the entire lifecycle of a network, including inception, network design, qualification, deployment, operation, and optimization
  • Work on implementation of Autodesk's Global Networking backbone strategic infrastructure initiatives
  • Define and drive the technical vision, roadmap, and architecture for Autodesk's global network and cloud connectivity platforms
  • Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards
  • Establish engineering standards, design patterns, and best practices for network automation, Infrastructure-as-Code, and cloud networking
  • Work closely with our automation teams in defining the tools that allow us to scale at outstanding volume
  • Design, develop, and maintain network automation solutions using Python, Infrastructure-as-Code, and CI/CD methodologies
  • Automate networking related tasks and build self-service tools
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies
  • Partner with Cloud Engineering, SRE, Platform Engineering, and Security teams to deliver scalable cloud networking solutions
  • Manage an enterprise scale SASE solution
  • Evaluate and implement AI-assisted and Agentic AI solutions to improve network operations, observability, troubleshooting, and automation
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives spanning Network Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Security, SRE, Platform Engineering, and AI teams
  • Serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor for networking, automation, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure decisions across the organization
  • Participate in organizational objective planning sessions
  • Manage relationships with third party vendors
  • Cross-train, mentor, and develop teammates while influencing technical direction across multiple teams

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in CS or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure, networking, network automation, DevOps, platform engineering, or related engineering disciplines
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking architectures and hybrid connectivity solutions
  • Strong proficiency in Python and network automation frameworks such as Ansible
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, source control, and Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar Infrastructure-as-Code technologies
  • Experience with BGP peering, routing, and connectivity management in cloud and enterprise environments
  • Knowledge of AWS and Azure networking design and services
  • Able to design, secure, and automate AWS networking infrastructure
  • Demonstrated history of AWS experience with Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Lambda, Route 53, VPC, Cloud WAN, and related networking services
  • Experience designing and implementing Azure networking solutions including VNets, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, and Azure DNS
  • Experience building and maintaining automation workflows and self-service infrastructure platforms
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and Agentic AI concepts
  • Experience integrating APIs and automating infrastructure operations at scale
  • Good level of proficiency and experience with TCP/IP networking, architecture, and core technologies, such as BGP, DNS, IPsec, MPLS, and cloud networking concepts
  • Knowledge of firewalls, security configurations, and troubleshooting
  • Proven experience leading large-scale infrastructure initiatives and influencing technical strategy across multiple teams
  • Demonstrated experience architecting enterprise-scale cloud networking and automation platforms
  • Strong software engineering mindset with experience building production automation systems and platforms
  • Proven ability to work effectively within an Agile framework
  • Skilled at presenting technical policies, proposals, and designs
  • Clear communicator with a positive attitude
  • Ability to manage long term, project/milestone-based work with multiple teams

  • Experience with Agentic AI frameworks, AI-powered operations, or LLM-based automation solutions

Salary transparency
Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $95,000 and $170,610. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
