Job description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Align and collaborate closely with application development, cyber security, and business operations teams.
  • Maintain up time and availability, as well as security posture, at established thresholds and SLA's, with measurements and indicators reported and tracked on a monthly basis.
  • Design and execute the vision and strategy and network road maps, as aligned with and approved by the Director of IT.
  • Ensure Network services are continuously improving, optimized, and aligned to the organization.
  • Lead a team of technical engineers/admins, creating an environment of trust, open dialogue, creative thinking and team cohesiveness, setting high standards of team and individual performance, aiding in the development of individual contributors, and providing clarity and alignment on strategic vision and business initiatives.
  • Responsible for guiding the development of reference architectures and technology road maps and helping migrate from legacy to modern technologies with an eye on reducing technical debt using solid life cycle management principles.
  • Guide the evaluation of new strategic technologies and emerging standards, from an enterprise infrastructure perspective, accounting for future needs as well as established processes.
  • Provide direction to the various development, customer, and business groups on infrastructure and security technology standards while ensuring that applications, infrastructure and security needs are architected for total scalability and performance.
  • Consult on major initiatives to guide key design decisions and may be called in to help identify solutions to complex technical and business problems as well.
  • Partner with other managers and architects to build the cohesive architecture practice across the Infrastructure organization.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required from an accredited college or university, preferably in engineering, mathematics, computer science, or business.
  • 7+ years of IT experience, with at least 8 years with infrastructure architecture and at least 6 years of experience in large scale technology architecture definition.
  • 3+ years of experience in developing architecture road maps, reference architectures, and evangelizing adoption of architecture principles in the design and delivery of technology solutions.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of Storage Area Networks (SAN), networks components (LAN/WAN), network security and technologies
  • Strong understanding of wireless technologies such as LTE, Digital Microwave, Radio Frequency (RF) propagation, and Spectrum Usage, as well as a strong understanding of fiber technologies such as MPLS, DWDM, and GPON technologies.
  • Understanding of Cloud technologies and principles
  • Extensive experience in HA/DR design, deployment strategies, and principles
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to present complex ideas to business and IT executives in a simplified way.
  • Experience mentoring technical and solution architects in good design principles.

  • Must be a confident and innovative leader, excellent communicator and accomplished driver of large-scale technology delivery.
