Job description

Summary/Objective 
 
The purpose of the Regional Sales Director (RSD) role is to grow the company revenue in line with established targets and timelines. This will be accomplished by delivering winning technical solutions to customer requirements while maximizing the productivity and effectiveness of the assigned Manufacturer's Rep sales network. This role also includes leading and measuring vital performance statistics of your sales area of responsibility and initiating improvement.  

Essential Functions

  • Daily management and prioritization of regional sales call activities, sales leads, opportunities, and quotes.
  • Technical solution support to customers and reps via telephone, video conferencing, email, and face-to-face sales calls.
  • Regular in-field travel to maintain customer presence and continue sales network development.
  • Maintain and manage sales opportunities via Salesforce.
  • Be the customers' voice and liaison for technical information between reps, engineering, operations, and supporting sales personnel.
  • Direct interaction with our inside sales support, sales reps, customer service, and sales management.
  • Ability to read, understand and articulate technical applications and outline drawings.

Supervisory Responsibility
 
This position will have region-specific Manufacturer Reps reporting to it.  

Work Environment
 
The environment will be both inside and outside depending on travel. The position is busy and will require you to work at a fast pace.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items over 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
 
This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week. 

Travel
 
This position requires travel as needed to support the various Sales Representatives.   

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Engineering, Technical or Business, 4-year degree
  • 5-10 years of proven sales leadership.
  • Managing direct reports in a highly technical product/services company. 
  • Enterprise size account management experience
