Job description

CSG are pleased to be supporting a leading global mining company is seeking an experienced engineering and capital projects leader to oversee sustaining capital delivery across a portfolio of large-scale mining operations in North America. This is a high impact corporate leadership position responsible for ensuring capital projects are selected, governed and delivered safely, efficiently and in alignment with long term operational objectives. Working closely with executive leadership, site operations and engineering teams, you will shape capital investment strategy while driving consistency, governance and project performance across multiple operating assets. Key Responsibilities Lead the governance and delivery of sustaining capital projects across multiple mining operations. Develop and implement project governance frameworks, standards and best practices. Oversee capital planning, budgeting and portfolio prioritisation. Drive the preparation and review of capital investment proposals (AFE/business cases). Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget. Establish portfolio KPIs and executive reporting to measure project performance. Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering and finance to align capital investments with business priorities. Provide leadership and mentoring to project and engineering teams while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Candidate Profile We're looking for a senior engineering leader who combines strong technical credibility with proven capital project and stakeholder management experience. You will ideally bring: Degree qualified in Engineering or a related discipline. 15+ years' experience in engineering, capital projects or project portfolio management within mining or heavy industry. Demonstrated success managing multi-site sustaining capital programmes. Strong understanding of project governance, stage-gate processes and capital approval methodologies. Experience developing and managing significant annual capital budgets. Excellent commercial, financial and risk management capability. Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience working across operations, engineering, maintenance and corporate leadership functions. Experience within large mining companies, EPCM organisations or other similar sectors will be highly regarded.
