Position Summary:

Under the direction of the AVP of Referral Management, this position is responsible for the system-wide development, oversight, direction, evaluation and implementation of the Referral Management Program and staff in accordance with established regulatory agencies


Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with Ardent Hospitals, Medical Groups, Corporate Leadership, and external partners to achieve Ardent organizational goals
  • The Regional Director develops strategies for achieving annual Referral Management goals and objectives, including input on system configuration, workflows, process monitoring and development, and education across clinical and administrative teams
  • Collaborates with hospital and medical group administrative leadership, business development, and other stakeholders to facilitate accurate, efficient, and effective workflows and processes that meet or exceed business requirements
  • Partner with Epic Build and Informatics team(s) to standardize and optimize Epic work queue builds and standardize referral management training materials
  • Supports Analytics department and advises on reporting and KPI development around referral management, staffing, and productivity metrics
  • Directs efforts to standardize and centralize referral management, prior-authorization, and scheduling workflows across regional departments
  • Supports and actively partners with the AVP of Referral Management in budget development, resource allocation, expense management and manages teams and direct reports to achieve department financial goals and benchmarks
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports
  • Reports to AVP of Referral Management

Qualifications

Job Requirements: 

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • Ability to influence, motivate, manage, train, direct, counsel and develop staff; communication and positive employee relation skills; knowledge of regulatory standards for compliance. Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Must have proven organizational skills with an ability to effectively prioritize and present information publicly, and communicate in writing clearly, concisely, thoroughly, and accurately.
  • Strong background and understanding of Healthcare Technology.
  • Ability to lead and implement change.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the Partners-in-Caring process by integrating our culture in all internal and external customer interactions; delivers on our brand promise of “Advancing health. Personalizing care” through compassion, courage, credibility, and commitment to community.
  • Seven (7) years of healthcare experience in an ambulatory/outpatient environment, including knowledge of the referral process, with at least three (3) years of direct supervisory experience leading teams.
  • Experience with referral management workflows, systems, and/or centralized referral center process required. EPIC experience preferred.
