Job Description
The Data Steward - Material and Vendor Data is responsible for ensuring that material and vendor data remains trusted, accurate, governed, and business-ready across the enterprise. This role serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and data platform teams to define data standards, monitor data quality, document business definitions, and establish governance processes that support procurement, inventory management, sourcing, supply chain, finance, analytics, and AI initiatives.
The Data Steward will drive stewardship activities across SAP and other enterprise systems while supporting data cataloging, data lineage, master data management (MDM), and data quality programs. The role plays a critical part in enabling standardized, governed, and scalable material and vendor data assets.
Key Responsibilities include:
• Establish and maintain data standards, business rules, ownership, and governance processes for master data domains.
• Monitor and improve data quality through issue resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage metadata, data lineage, and documentation to support transparency, accessibility, and effective data governance.
• Partner with business and technology teams to support master data management, system integrations, reporting, analytics, and AI initiatives.
• Provide subject matter expertise on vendor and material data processes, driving standardization, harmonization, and operational efficiency.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement, governance forums, training, and change management to promote adoption of data governance best practices.
Skills/Qualifications
Required:
• H.S. Diploma/GED equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred
• 3 years of experience in data governance, master data management, business process analysis, procurement, supply chain, SAP, or related fields.
• Experience collaborating with business and technical teams.
• Experience documenting business processes, data standards, and governance requirements.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
