Our partner is at the forefront of energy innovation—designing and building high-performance lithium battery systems that power everything from marine to specialty vehicles. We’re looking for a hands-on, solutions-driven Automation Engineer to play a critical role in advancing our manufacturing capabilities and supporting our rapid growth.

If you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced production environment and enjoy solving complex technical challenges, this is your opportunity to make a tangible impact.

What You’ll Do

Drive Automation Excellence

  • Serve as the technical lead for automated systems, including our Laser Welding Line, ensuring safe, stable, and repeatable production
  • Troubleshoot automation, controls, and equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain throughput
  • Optimize processes to improve cycle time, yield, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
  • Support new product introductions (NPI), including equipment setup, validation, and readiness

Strengthen Equipment Reliability

  • Support maintenance and reliability programs across automated and semi-automated manufacturing systems
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and controls issues
  • Partner with Maintenance and Operations to drive equipment upgrades and improvements
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring failures

Support Cutting-Edge Battery Systems

  • Provide technical expertise for the Balancing Work Center and charger systems
  • Assist in designing, building, and commissioning battery chargers and related equipment
  • Maintain and troubleshoot balancing and charging systems to ensure safe operation
  • Develop and maintain documentation, wiring diagrams, and technical standards

Advanced Controls & Technology

  • Support PLCs, HMIs, motion systems, vision systems, and industrial networks
  • Assist with programming updates, integration, and continuous system improvements
  • Maintain electrical schematics, controls documentation, and software backups

Lead Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to initiatives focused on safety, quality, cost, and delivery
  • Support capital projects from equipment selection through commissioning (FAT/SAT)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field)
  • 3+ years of experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment
  • Strong hands-on expertise with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and industrial networks
  • Programming experience (C, C++, Python, or G-Code preferred)
  • Proven troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and controls systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation
  • Working knowledge of industrial safety standards (LOTO, machine guarding, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to drive root cause solutions
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
