As our company continues to grow, we are expanding our engineering team and seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer with strong experience in power electronics to help design and develop next-generation high-voltage power supply systems.
This role offers the opportunity to work on complex analog and power electronics designs, collaborate with experienced engineers, and contribute to products used in demanding technical applications.
Position Overview
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will lead the design and development of high-voltage power supply products and custom customer solutions. This role involves working across the entire product development cycle-from concept and prototype through qualification and production.
The ideal candidate has strong experience in power electronics design, including switching power supplies or DC-DC converters, and is interested in applying their expertise to high-voltage systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop high-voltage power supplies and related electronic systems
Evaluate customer requirements and translate them into technical specifications and product designs
Design analog and digital control circuits for power electronics systems
Develop and optimize DC-DC converters, switching power supplies, and feedback compensation networks
Design and evaluate transformers, magnetics, and voltage multiplier circuits
Perform prototype development, bench testing, and design validation
Modify schematics and support PCB layout to ensure optimal electrical performance and manufacturability
Collaborate with mechanical engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure cost-effective product designs
Lead engineering projects and provide technical updates to management and customers
Support qualification testing, reliability testing, and extended life testing
Assist manufacturing engineering with design transfer and production documentation
Work with technicians, vendors, and external consultants as required
Provide technical support to internal teams including manufacturing, quality, and sales.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent
10+ years of progressive experience in electronic design
Strong experience in switching power supply design or DC-DC converter design
Experience with feedback control loop compensation
Strong troubleshooting and circuit analysis skills
Experience working with prototypes, testing, and design validation
Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
Strong communication and technical documentation skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience designing high-voltage power supplies
Knowledge of voltage multipliers and high-voltage circuits
Experience with transformer and magnetics design
Familiarity with PCB design collaboration and layout review
Experience supporting products from concept through production release.
