Loss Prevention Security Guard
Position Summary
The Loss Prevention Security Guard is responsible for helping maintain a safe and secure shopping environment for customers, team members, and company assets. This role focuses on theft deterrence, observation, reporting, and customer safety while providing professional and courteous service at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain a visible presence in and around the store to deter theft and unsafe behavior
Observe customer and employee activity for potential theft, safety risks, or policy violations
Monitor entrances, exits, and high-risk areas of the store
Be knowledgeable of company systems and procedures and monitor such in order to identify and investigate suspicious activity that may require action
Respond to suspicious activity using non-confrontational and de-escalation techniques
Report incidents of theft, safety concerns, or disturbances to store management
Accurately document incidents, observations, and actions taken
Assist with emergency situations such as medical incidents, evacuations, or alarms
Support store leadership during investigations as directed
Follow all company policies regarding apprehension, safety, and use of force
Provide excellent customer service while enforcing store safety standards
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous security or loss prevention experience a plus
Strong observation and communication skills
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
Knowledge of theft deterrence and safety procedures preferred
Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
Must be able to life 25-50lbs
Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for long periods
Ability to visually monitor store activity and surveillance systems
Ability to communicate clearly in person and in writing
