Job description

Overview

Assist Event Manager with the execution and coordination of events that will benefit Loon Mountain by adding value for guests. Loon is a customer-focused organization, so a crucial part of each employee’s job is to get and keep guests.


Responsibilities

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervision of event operations by coordinating with the Events Manager, Events Workers, clients, vendors, and other Loon Mountain departments involved. This person must be adaptable, a clear communicator, and excels at efficient problem solving. The Events Supervisor is a self-motivated individual who takes initiative and is consistently mindful of operations and thinking a step ahead. The supervision includes and is not limited to:

  • Pre-event preparation and organization
  • During event operations
  • Post-event breakdown
  • Overall management and coordination of event workers, including communications regarding schedules and expectations for each event

 GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitates the following administrative duties:
    • Manages event product purchasing like equipment, tickets, promotional items, and other items related to event production.
    • Coordinates internal event communications via email release of event function sheets.
    • Organize event registration Release of Liability and registration forms.
    • Assist Event Manager with the development and production events.
    • Complete event workers' payroll and manage team member scheduling weekly.
    • Keep the events office and all other storage spaces organized and ready for use.
    • Assist in early season training for event workers and be available for questions.
  • Manages the following day-of event operations:
    • Set-up and breakdown of each event site as needed. Applicant must be able to lift 50 lbs.
    • Registration and the organization of enrolling participants.
    • Setting up event arenas with fencing and/or other materials.
    • Communicate with Mountain Operations, Ski Patrol, and other resort staff to help execute event.
    • Control event arena entrances and/or exits.
    • Give excellent guest service and ability to inform event details to the general public.
    • Coordinate with vendors and event partners during event operations as directed by the Events Manager.
  • This position must be able to:
    • Provide service to our customers (internal and external) by following Resort Etiquette Guidelines while interacting with guests. Respond to guests and employees in a courteous, efficient manner.
    • Must be able to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level or above.

RESPONSIBILITIES TO SAFETY:

  1. Protect the safety of self, co-workers, and Loon Mountain Resort guests at all times.
  2. Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
  3. Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to immediate supervisor.
  4. Follow all company and department safety policies and procedures.
  5. Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of yourself or others.
  6. Drive in accordance with the law and Loon Mountain Resort policies.
