SwingWing Auto Haulers is an interstate trucking company specializing in the transportation of palletized mail throughout the United States. We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and proactive Logistics Dispatcher to join our growing team. This role is critical to ensuring our customers' mail is delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Position Summary
The Logistics Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and dispatching drivers to cover scheduled mail routes across the country. This position ensures all routes are staffed, drivers have the information they need, and loads are delivered on time while maintaining compliance with FMCSA regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and dispatch drivers for scheduled mail routes throughout the United States.
  • Ensure all assigned routes are covered and communicate with management regarding any coverage issues.
  • Monitor driver progress and provide real-time support throughout each trip.
  • Communicate with customers, dispatch contacts, and drivers regarding pickups, deliveries, and schedule changes.
  • Utilize load boards as needed to secure backhaul freight and maximize equipment utilization.
  • Monitor Hours of Service (HOS) and ELD compliance.
  • Assist with route planning and scheduling to improve efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate dispatch records and shipment documentation.
  • Coordinate with maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Resolve delivery issues and communicate delays promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with all DOT and FMCSA regulations.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in trucking dispatch, logistics, or transportation preferred.
  • Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, ELDs, and Hours of Service.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
