Summary

This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the organization's IT infrastructure - including (but not limited to) servers, software, storage, and other enterprise systems. The Systems Administrator ensures system reliability, performance, and security by monitoring operations, applying updates, and troubleshooting issues. Additionally, the role involves managing user access, implementing backup and recovery processes, and supporting the daytoday technical operations of Mary Free Bed. The Systems Administrators also collaborates with other IT team members to optimize environments and support business continuity. This work is performed through long-term project functions as well as the execution of day-to-day tasks. This is a hybrid position with a mix of remote and on-site duties.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Installation, maintenance, and monitoring of server environment

o Management of VMware virtual server hosts configured for metro-clustering

o Guest operating system and software installation/upgrades

o Hardware and firmware updates

o Manage backups and restores

o Performance monitoring and overall efforts to minimize system downtime.

Directory management (Active Directory on-premises/Entra ID online)

o User/Device security configuration, including SSO and app integrations with Microsoft Entra ID

o Group policy management

o Provisioning automation (Powershell scripting, Graph integrations, etc.)

o License management

Microsoft Exchange

o Exchange Online/365

o On-prem relays

o Email security

Shared storage management

o Everpure

o Dell-EMC Isilon

o Synology

o Veeam backup management

o File share security

Software/device deployment

o MECM (imaging, distribution, patch management)

o MDM (InTune, WorkspaceOne, etc.)

o Perform audit and assessment duties

Break/fix resolution through help desk ticket escalation

Create and maintain technical documentation

Perform tasks outside of regular business hours as required

Travel to other locations as required

Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation

Essential Job Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution or equivalent certifications/work experience

Minimum 5 years of IT experience managing servers, enterprise software, and online/on-prem domain services.

Able to work independently to research and resolve critical issues

Able to forge and maintain positive and productive vendor relationships

Demonstrates effective teamwork

Demonstrates strong project management skills

Demonstrates information management skills to document, communicate, explain, interpret, and present data.

Demonstrates a strong work ethic focused on effective results, minimal user disruption, and customer service
