Senior Director of Business Development - Remote within the US

Responsibilities:

  • Potential to manage people, including individuals up to the Director level.
  • Travel requirements will vary month to month; candidates must be willing and able to travel on short notice, with travel expectations ranging from up to 50–75% during any given month.
  • Work extensively with appropriate customer teams within the Company to develop leads and appointments with customers.
  • Develop and coordinate the objectives of the overall business development plan with all of the functional departments of the company as necessary.
  • Generate new business opportunities within key target customers and develop long-term relationships with key customer/clients.
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations and prepare and answer RFP questions using knowledge of the competitive landscape.
  • Work closely with the EVP Client Service, other client service leaders, and respective teams, as appropriate, to ensure customer expectations are met and overall business plans and strategies are achieved.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in major account sales development/sales management/marketing within the Consumer Packaged Goods Industry
  • Working knowledge of syndicated data (IRI, Neilsen, Spectra, etc.)
  • Skill in supervising to include delegating responsibility, training and evaluating the performance
  • Demonstrated ability to provide cross-functional leadership
  • Good interpersonal and team building skills

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Execution

  • Will manage people- including at least one Director of Business Development
  • Will work extensively with appropriate Customer teams within the Company to develop Leads and appointments with customers
  • Will work independently to generate own leads within key target customers
  • Will develop long term relationships within key customer/client targets
  • Will develop and deliver sales and capabilities presentations, prepare and answer RFP’s and have a clear understanding of the competitive landscape
  • Will work closely with the VP of Business Development/ VP of Operations (and respective teams as appropriate) to ensure that our customer’s expectations are met and overall business plans and strategies are achieved
  • Will be an ambassador and role model for the division and will continually deliver the “customer first” philosophy
  • Will quantify each potential new business opportunity in respect to revenue and profitability in conjunction with Operations and Finance

Planning

  • Will coordinate objectives of the overall business development plan with all of the functional department of the company as necessary
  • Will lead the development and implementation of an overall business development marketing strategy, including competitive analysis, obtaining approval from Senior Mgt team
  • Will prepare at least monthly and quarterly updates to the plan and report back to VP Client Business Development/ Management team

Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

Indirect Reports

May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

     

Field of Study/Area of Experience

8+ years of experience in Sales Development/Sales Management/Marketing
