Job description

The Director, Learning and Organizational Development owns Azurity Pharmaceuticals' Capability & Development Framework, designing and delivering the programs that build organizational capability across the colleague lifecycle. The Director is accountable for four of the framework's five pillars - management system fluency, Azurity-specific business training, employee self-development, and business acumen & critical thinking; compliance training is owned separately. Partnering with the Senior Leadership Team, subject-matter experts, and Colleague Experience Business Partners, the Director aligns learning strategy to business priorities and embeds a culture of continuous learning and enterprise thinking, blending instructional-design rigor with strategic vision to keep programs scalable, measurable, and impactful.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Management System & Operational Discipline

  • Own the curriculum and certification for Azurity's management system, including goal alignment (True North and cascading objectives), the performance-management cadence, Roles & Responsibilities deployment, and KPI-driven execution.
  • Embed structured, root-cause problem-solving as the enterprise standard for decision-making and exception handling, supported by coursework, exemplars, and coaching with subject-matter experts.

Azurity-Specific Training

  • Design and maintain the structured onboarding program (first 90 days) and annual certification on Azurity's strategy, portfolio, pipeline, and operating model.
  • Curate SME-delivered content spanning the product portfolio, go-to-market model, and key functional topics, scaled through Lunch & Learns, podcasts, and cross-functional immersion.

Leadership & Employee Development

  • Lead leadership-development and succession programs that build a strong internal talent pipeline across critical roles.
  • Administer the Individual Development Plan (IDP) process, curated development pathways, mentorship, and LinkedIn Learning allocation in partnership with managers and Colleague Experience Business Partners.
  • Steward company-sponsored external development and certification opportunities for engaged, high-performing colleagues.

Business Acumen & Critical Thinking

  • Develop enterprise thinkers through case-based learning on real Azurity scenarios, covering financial literacy, value creation in pharma, and decision-making under uncertainty.
  • Build practical thinking frameworks and hypothesis-driven approaches to problem solving, reinforced through leadership-led sessions and post-decision reviews.

Strategy, Measurement & Team Leadership

  • Define the learning strategy, governance, and operating cadence for the Capability & Development Framework (excluding compliance training), and manage the associated budget and external vendor relationships.
  • Establish metrics and dashboards for participation, completion, capability growth, and business impact, reporting outcomes regularly to HR and business leadership.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the learning team and SME network, building scalable instructional-design and facilitation capability.

Skills & Capabilities

Leadership & Ways of Working

  • Strategic thinker able to balance enterprise program design with hands-on facilitation.
  • Highly credible with senior leaders; able to influence without authority and build trusted partnerships across functions.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with evolving priorities.
  • Solutions-oriented with strong change-management instincts and a bias toward action.

Skills/Experience

  • High level of proficiency with A.I. enabled learning and organizational development platforms.
  • Demonstrated success designing, launching, and scaling enterprise learning programs and curricula, with strong instructional-design expertise.
  • Experience deploying a management or operating system and structured problem-solving or continuous-improvement methodologies.
  • Pharmaceutical or life sciences experience preferred, ideally within a multinational, matrixed organization.
  • Proficiency with LMS and learning-technology platforms, including LinkedIn Learning and modern content-curation tools.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to engage SMEs and senior leaders as program partners.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, or a related field required; Master's degree and/or relevant L&D/OD certification (e.g., ATD CPTD, SHRM) preferred.
