Title:ย Director, Solutions Engineering - AMERICAS West

Technology Specialization: Observability

The Director, Solutions Engineering is a strategic, customer-centric technology leader responsible for driving the pre-sales technical vision, growth, and performance of our Solutions Engineering (SE) organization across the Americas - West Region.

This leader will build, scale, and inspire a high-performing team of Solutions Engineers, partnering closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to accelerate revenue, increase win rates, and position the Riverbed Platform as the standard for enterprise observability. You will play a critical role in shaping regional go-to-market strategy while ensuring technical excellence, operational rigor, and exceptional customer outcomes.

What you will do
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Solutions Engineers supporting enterprise and strategic accounts across the Americas West region.

  • Establish a culture of technical excellence, accountability, customer empathy, and continuous improvement.

  • Define and execute the regional pre-sales strategy aligned with global GTM, Product, and Sales leadership.

  • Partner with Regional Sales leadership to drive new business, expansions, and renewals across large enterprise and strategic customers.

  • Own and optimize key performance metrics including win rates, pipeline influence, POC success, technical validation cycles, and SE capacity planning.

  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to influence roadmap, deliver differentiated demos, and create compelling technical content and field enablement.

  • Represent the Solutions Engineering organization in regional business reviews, forecasting, and executive planning sessions.

  • Build scalable processes for technical discovery, architecture design, POCs, workshops, and value-based evaluations.

  • Act as a senior technical executive sponsor for key customers, helping shape complex observability strategies and long-term platform adoption.

What makes you an ideal candidate
  • 10+ years in customer-facing technical roles such as Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Architecture, or similar.

  • 5+ years leading and scaling high-performing SE teams, ideally in a Director-level role within a SaaS or enterprise software company.

  • Deep expertise in one or more of the following domains: AIOps, Digital Employee Experience, Cloud Observability, Network Observability, Infrastructure Observability, and/or Application Observability.

  • Proven success partnering with enterprise and strategic Sales teams to drive significant revenue growth and large, complex deal execution.

  • Strong experience operating in fast-paced, competitive, high-growth SaaS environments.

  • Executive presence with exceptional communication, storytelling, and influence skills at C-level and VP-level.

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term regional planning with hands-on leadership and deal engagement.
