Job Summary

Develops and implements vendor relations strategy to efficiently and effectively obtain products and services required by Stewart from third party suppliers at the best total cost of ownership. Through effective oversight and engagement of people, processes and supplier relationships, vendor relations creates a competitive advantage for Stewart through innovation, cost management, quality and process improvements, asset optimization, risk mitigation, social responsibility and sustainability. Develops and implements procurement strategy to efficiently and effectively obtain products and services required by Stewart from third party suppliers at the best total cost of ownership.
Job Responsibilities
  • Provides direction and leadership in the areas of contracting services, management of the purchase of broad categories of spend such as services, supplies, equipment, and materials, sourcing of goods and services and negotiating prices and contracts to ensure overall function strategy is implemented effectively, within budget, and in compliance with all regulations and standards
  • Develops Vendor Relations strategy focused on minimizing overall purchasing costs without compromising quality including strategic spend initiatives, automation, process improvement, exemplary customer service, selective outsourcing strategies and compliance/governance standards
  • Accountable for financial performance and achieving significant category savings that impacts the overall the organization
  • Provides leadership and direction through managers, supervisors and/or individual contributors
  • Accountable for the performance and results of a function/sub-function, division/region
  • Executes business plans and contributes to the development of business strategy
  • Decisions are guided by business unit or regional strategy and priorities
  • Applies broad industry knowledge and business acumen to drive financial performance
  • Has broad impact on the functional, divisional or regional results
  • Directs the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems applying advanced critical thinking
  • Persuades and negotiates with senior leaders across the business
  • Leads through subordinate managers; contributes to the development of functional/operational long-term strategy and develops annual business plans to ensure alignment

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred

Experience
  • Typically requires 10+ years of related work experience
