Job description

Job Description
Position Title: Director, International Brand Presentation (VM, Styling, Store Design)
This role reports directly to the Senior Marketing Director, International.
Position Summary: The Director of International Brand Presentation leads the global visual strategy for American Eagle, Aerie, and OFFLINE. You will define the vision and standards for seasonal floorsets, styling, and window displays - ensuring a unified brand voice while enabling smart, localized adaptations for diverse international markets and franchise partner needs.
As a key steward of our global aesthetic, you will harmonize high-level store design principles with expert styling and visual merchandising to ensure a seamless, elevated brand experience worldwide. By bridging the gap between creative concept and regional execution, you will ensure our brand stories resonate powerfully and consistently in every corner of the globe.
Responsible for:
Global Strategy & Brand Stewardship
  • Own the international visual merchandising and styling vision, ensuring absolute alignment with global brand strategy and seasonal priorities for American Eagle, Aerie, and OFFLINE.
  • Develop and maintain global VM principles and architectural guardrails to ensure consistent execution across diverse partner models and store formats.
  • Oversee international Market Week preparation, translating high-level global creative direction into clear, scalable, and actionable partner guidelines.
  • Provide executive oversight for seasonal window concepts and styling direction, ensuring seamless integration with Creative Services and overall brand storytelling.

Operational Excellence & Market Execution
  • Partner with the Retail Design team to lead macro-space planning, ensuring that global assortment priorities are strategically integrated with architectural floorplans and fixture selection to optimize store flow and brand impact.
  • Provide executive ownership of global floorset and laydown development, collaborating deeply with Global Merchandising and Omni teams to balance aesthetic and commercial goals.
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure VM readiness for new market entries and high-profile flagship openings, including strategic oversight of VM mapping, manifests, and final walkthroughs.
  • Guide VM execution for regional holidays and cultural moments, ensuring brand relevance while respecting local traditions and consumer behaviors.

Leadership & Collaborative Partnership
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing international VM and styling team across both Home Office and field roles.
  • Represent the International VM & Styling function in senior leadership forums, driving clarity on priorities and accountability across global regions.
  • Partner with regional leads and Visual Operations to deliver tailored VM training and strategic feedback, providing escalation support for complex partner reviews and laydown executions.

Measures of Success
The success of this role is defined by the ability to translate core brand directives into diverse international store formats while maximizing square-footage productivity. You will be measured on your ability to harmonize global brand standards with critical international considerations, including local capacity, seasonality, and flow strategy.
Skills & Experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Visual Merchandising, Styling, or Creative Retail, with proven leadership across international or multi-market environments
  • Demonstrated ability to set and scale global VM and styling strategy, balancing consistent brand expression with local market and assortment needs.
  • Proven people leader with experience managing and developing senior, multi-regional teams and working effectively across time zones and partner models.
  • Strong cross-functional and partner leadership skills.
  • Commercially minded, with a strong visual storytelling sensibility and the ability to connect VM execution to customer impact and business performance.
