Position Summary / Job Goals:
The Village School is actively recruiting for the 2026-2027 academic year. The ideal Computer Science candidate will inspires students, set ambitious expectations, and supports all learners in achieving strong academic outcomes. To create a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment that promotes intellectual curiosity, problem-solving, and mastery of mathematical concepts and skills.
Qualifications / Training:
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or equivalent professional training.
  • Strong pedagogical understanding of Computer Science instruction, assessment, and differentiation.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional learning and development.

Experience / Knowledge:
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge of Computer Science content and effective instructional practices.
  • Designs coherent sequences of lessons that deepen understanding and build complex skills.
  • Uses formative and summative assessment to guide instruction, diagnose learning needs, and provide actionable feedback.
  • Understands how young people develop and learns to personalize instruction based on ability, background, interests, and learning needs.
  • Creates and maintains high expectations for student progress, behaviour, and classroom culture.

High School Director (or designated instructional leader)
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Set ambitious expectations for all students and take responsibility for their academic progress in Computer Science.
Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that promote deep understanding, problem-solving, and higher-order thinking.
Create a safe, respectful, and stimulating classroom environment rooted in high standards of behaviour and mutual respect.
Use assessment data to monitor learning, adjust instruction, differentiate support, and provide timely, meaningful feedback.
Communicate regularly with parents and colleagues regarding student progress, achievement, and wellbeing.
  • Participate actively in professional learning, reflect on teaching practice, and implement strategies to improve student outcomes.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities, school events, and wider NAE initiatives, fostering collaboration and global citizenship.
  • Uphold safeguarding, inclusion, and the school's values in all interactions.
