The Director of Business Intelligence at Johnson & Johnson within the Engineering & Property Services organization is a strategic leader responsible for guiding the development and execution of business intelligence initiatives including competitiveness and benchmarking. This role drives data-driven decision-making, optimizes operations, and enhances the organization's capabilities through advanced analytics, reporting, and insights. This role is responsible for managing $2B in operational spend across our global portfolio as well as >$10B in capital spend over the next 5 years.

Build and scale a centralized function that delivers market benchmarks, competitive intelligence, and analytics that drive portfolio decisions, underwriting, leasing, development, and strategy. You'll partner with Asset Management, Finance, Leasing, and Development to create repeatable benchmarking frameworks, monitor external market signals, and translate insights into actionable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the organization's BI roadmap aligned with business goals.

Define and own a comprehensive benchmarking and competitive intelligence strategy aligned to portfolio goals, asset classes, and growth targets.

Design and maintain benchmarking models (internal vs. external) across asset classes (MAKE, Non-MAKE, mixed-use) and geographies.

Monitor competitor activity, new developments, leasing terms, rent/occupancy trends, financing activity, asset-level performance, etc.

Create executive dashboards and self-serve analytics focused on portfolio benchmarks, market signals, and competitive performance.

Translate complex data into clear stories for executives and non-technical stakeholders.

Team Building: Build and mentor a cross-functional team of analysts and BI professionals while fostering curiosity and accountability

Operational Excellence: Oversee pipelines, dashboards, and analytics while ensuring data quality, scalability, and cost efficiency.

Understands geopolitical and inflationary impacts relative to our functional goals

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree is required. Degrees in Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, Master's in Data Science, or related) preferred.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

A visionary leader with 10+ years in BI or Data Analytics, including 5+ years in leadership roles preferably in engineering, facilities or property management sectors.

A master storyteller who translates complex data into clear actionable insights for executives.

Entrepreneurial, proactive and confident with the ability to influence decisions at the highest level.

Must be able to zoom in and zoom out effectively using data driven methods

Must be able to gather competitive intelligence and understand how to create viable actions to empower E&PS to excel

Expertise in BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker), data warehouses, and data management platforms.

Strong understanding of database management, SQL, and trends in big data analytics

Deep expertise with Microsoft Office Suite application

Other:

English language proficiency required.

Travel required up to 30%

Preferred: Experience with Python, SAP, Maximo, SaaS

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).
This position is eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive program.
Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation -120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado -48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington -56 hours per calendar year
Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays -13 days per calendar year
Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
Parental Leave - 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
Bereavement Leave - 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
Caregiver Leave - 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
