Job description

Peoplelink Staffing, in partnership with a prominent manufacturer in the Murfreesboro, TN area, is seeking injection mold setup technicians to join their team! This is a facility offering a wide range of perks such as full benefits, 401K, and profit sharing!

  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 or 3:30 pm to 10:30 - 11 pm
Injection Mold Setup Technician
The ideal candidate will have experience with machine and mold setup, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a solid understanding of injection molding processes and material properties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Set up and start injection molding machines and establish new processes using scientific molding techniques.
  • Analyze injection and pressure curves to determine cycle times and optimize process parameters.
  • Troubleshoot molding machines to ensure parts meet specifications for size, appearance, flash, splay, cycle time, and overall quality.
  • Identify tooling issues and recommend corrective actions to improve production performance.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of material properties and their impact on the injection molding process.
  • Support and assist Set-Up Technicians during mold changes, machine setups, cleaning, venting, and teardown activities.
  • Operate in a production support role as needed to maintain production schedules and efficiency.
  • Complete all required documentation, including sample retention records, mold forms, mold change tickets, and manufacturing orders.
  • Assist in developing and implementing action plans related to safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and 5S initiatives.
  • Install, monitor, maintain, and remove auxiliary equipment associated with injection molding operations.
  • Monitor injection molding machines, automation systems, and material loading equipment, responding promptly to alarms and operational issues.
  • Collaborate with production personnel, engineering teams, and other departments to achieve production and quality objectives.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and 5S standards.
  • Demonstrate a positive, customer-focused attitude when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain excellent attendance and reliability.
  • Work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in injection molding machine and mold setup.
  • Experience troubleshooting injection molding processes and equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of scientific molding principles and process optimization techniques is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret production documentation and process specifications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Physical and Work Requirements
  • Ability to work all designated shifts as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining safety and quality standards.
