Pitt Community College is seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Infrastructure Support to oversee the management and operations of three critical IT areas: Enterprise Solutions, Application Programming, and Network Services. Reporting directly to the CIO, the Director ensures the reliability, scalability, and security of the institution's IT infrastructure, both on-premise and in the cloud.
This position plays a key role in developing and executing technology strategies, supporting institutional goals, and ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements.

What You'll Do
  • Oversee management of Enterprise Solutions, including on-premise and cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365, and hosted systems such as Ellucian Colleague, Element451, Etrieve, NelNet, TracCloud, HelioCampus, and LibraryPass).
  • Supervise the Manager of Application Programming and team, overseeing development and support in IIS, APIs, Etrieve Content and Central, and Entrinsik Informer tools.
  • Supervise the Manager of Network Services and team, managing wired/wireless networks, telephony, fax systems, and infrastructure security (including next-gen firewalls).
  • Ensure infrastructure reliability, scalability, and security through proactive monitoring, management, and optimization.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to develop and implement technology strategies aligned with institutional priorities.
  • Provide direct support to the CIO in IT project planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for IT operations and cybersecurity.
  • Manage budgets and allocate resources for infrastructure support teams.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to keep PCC's IT infrastructure competitive and secure.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory frameworks such as GLBA, HIPAA, CIS Controls, NIST 800-53, and PCI.
  • Develop, test, and maintain Business Continuity and Incident Response plans.

Additional Information
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum of 4 years of IT infrastructure management experience, including 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field and 4 years of related experience, or an equivalent mix of education and professional experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the role successfully.
  • Strong knowledge of server infrastructure, cloud services, application development, and network management.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365, and enterprise-level cloud services.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team management, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with budget planning and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices and compliance requirements.
