Job Summary:

The IT Support Technician is responsible for diagnosing and solving software and hardware faults, responding to IT service issues and requests in a timely manner, and providing technical support across the company. The IT Support Technician will assist with maintaining the company's computer systems, networks, and related technology infrastructure. This position involves installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners. This role requires a mix of technical skills, a problem-solving mindset, and excellent interpersonal communication abilities.

Essential Functions:

  • Respond to IT support requests and inquiries from staff, providing solutions or advice in a user-friendly manner.
  • Install, configure, and update hardware and software systems, ensuring seamless integration and operation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to computer systems, hardware, and software.
  • Document internal procedures and maintain a log of all technical issues and resolutions.
  • Assist with the setup of new users' accounts and profiles, including hardware provisioning and software installation.
  • Maintain daily performance of computer systems and network, ensuring optimal operation.
  • Guide and train users on new systems, software applications, and provide general technical support.
  • Conduct regular security checks and participate in the maintenance of IT security systems.
  • Collaborate with other IT staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
  • Participate in IT projects, including system upgrades and the rollout of new applications.

Qualifications/Minimum requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English proficiently.
  • High school diploma required; further education or certification in IT, computer science, or relevant field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as an IT Support Technician or similar technical support role is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office/365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and various operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, and Windows 11+ in domain environments).
  • Experience with Hyper-V, AD, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP is preferred.
  • Experience with systems documentation is preferred.
  • User training experience preferred.
  • Good understanding of computer security and data privacy principles.
  • Familiarity with office automation products, help desk software, databases, and remote-control software.
  • Ability to communicate technical information, both verbal and written to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple issues concurrently.
  • Ability to quickly gain new skills and knowledge when faced with new challenges.
