Job description

Job Summary:
The Director of PFS Informatics is responsible for planning and executing the direction of patient billing and collection systems to support the organization's financial goals. Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of system applications, ensuring compliance with regulatory billing requirements and managing system updates. Directs the quality, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness of system integration and supervises system analysts. Lead long-term initiatives, manage complex implementations, and guide staff in addressing technical challenges and driving process improvements. Fosters relationships with stakeholders, ensures HIPAA compliance, and develops policies for system operations and change control.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Work Experience:
Five years of experience involving clinical and patient financial billing and collections systems within a healthcare setting required. Extensive experience in implementation and system support required; prior programming experience preferred.
Five years management experience required.
License/Registration/Certification:
None
Education and Training:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field required. Master's degree preferred.

  1. Effective written and oral communications skills for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all levels of hospital personnel and its affiliates.
  2. Broad understanding of newer information technologies related to healthcare computing and operational processes.
  3. Strong leadership, planning, and organizational skills.
  4. Strong technical skills and a complete familiarity with current information systems management concepts and terminology are required.
  5. Proficient in creative problem solving and strong analytical skills with the ability to translate user requirements into functional technical specifications. A strong emphasis on process orientation is required.
  6. Strong technical skills in a wide variety of hardware, software, and operating systems.
  7. Ability to handle stressful situations and multiple tasks in a support and management role. Must have experience as a team leader in a project and resource management role.
  8. Ability to work in a consultative manner.
  9. Must be self-motivated, analytical, a good troubleshooter, and goal oriented.
  10. Ability to coach and develop Associates, maximizing performance based on mutual agreement of measurable performance objectives and methods for tracking performance.
