The Grand Pavilion for Rehabilitation and Nursing at Rockville Centre
Salary: Up to $130,000 annually (based on experience)
Position Overview:
The Grand Pavilion for Rehabilitation and Nursing at Rockville Centre is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Registered Nurse to serve as our Infection Preventionist. This key role is responsible for leading and maintaining the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program, ensuring a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and oversee the Infection Prevention and Control Program
  • Conduct ongoing infection surveillance, tracking, and data analysis
  • Monitor and report infection trends, outbreaks, and key metrics
  • Educate and train staff on infection control practices, including PPE, hand hygiene, and isolation protocols
  • Ensure compliance with guidelines from CDC, CMS, OSHA, and the Department of Health
  • Lead outbreak investigations and coordinate response efforts
  • Perform regular audits and rounds to ensure adherence to infection control standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation for regulatory surveys and internal reporting
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote a culture of safety and prevention

Qualifications:
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
  • Previous experience in infection control or a clinical leadership role in a skilled nursing facility preferred
  • Strong knowledge of infection prevention practices and regulatory requirements
  • Infection Preventionist certification (IP or CIC) preferred or willingness to obtain
