CV Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary:
Provides direct care of CVMS patients (post op day one CABG, thoracotomy and vascular surgery patients). Manages a variety of medical conditions, assists with post-operative recovery, performs assessments, administers medications, and ensures patient comfort and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care of CVMS patients (post op day one CABG, thoracotomy and vascular surgery patients)
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Monitor vital signs and patient status.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care, wound care, and pain management.
  • Administer medications and treatments, observing for reactions.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and collaborate with physicians and care teams.
  • Educate patients and families on care plans, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
  • Respond to emergencies and assist in life-saving procedures as needed.

Requirements:

  • RN license in state of assignment.
  • BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required.
  • Experience in medical-surgical units preferred.
  • Strong clinical, assessment, and communication skills.
