Job description

Sewickley Academy is seeking to hire a part-time Assistant for our after-school program. The after school program operates between the hours of 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Assistant is responsible for the supervision of students in Grades 1-5. This role will supervise children to ensure continuity and quality of programming.
Responsibilities:
  • Check the program's equipment and make sure it is adequate before the program starts.
  • Treat all children with dignity and respect.
  • Assist the Director in lesson planning, implementation, and evaluation of the After School Program.
  • Work with other team members as needed.
  • Ensure all children are signed in and out each day.
  • Maintain a professional attitude at all times.
  • Supervise all activities to ensure safety at all times.
  • Report to Director with any problem which may occur with the children.
  • Observe, record, and report on the behavior of individual children as assigned.

Requirements
  • Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
