Job Description

The Director, Enterprise Systems plays a critical leadership role in Assent’s technology organization. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Technology & Data Solutions, this role leads the team responsible for the strategy, governance, and optimization of the Salesforce platform (Sales, Service, and Experience Clouds)—a core system powering Assent’s commercial and customer success operations.

The right candidate brings an AI-first mindset and is keenly interested in identifying automation and innovation opportunities through Agentforce and other Salesforce solutions, helping drive smarter, faster, and more connected business processes across the enterprise.

As the owner of Salesforce, the Director ensures the platform’s stability, scalability, security, and long-term health. The role also provides limited administrative oversight for a small number of connected satellite systems, ensuring alignment and data consistency across the broader enterprise ecosystem. The Director partners closely with the Enterprise Integration, Enterprise Architecture, and PMO teams to ensure cross-functional alignment, effective integrations, and a scalable technology foundation.

This is an opportunity to lead the evolution of Assent’s Salesforce ecosystem, shaping its future state through modern architecture, automation, and innovation. The Director  will play a central role in driving measurable business outcomes and platform excellence across a global, cross-functional environment.

Key Requirements & Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the Enterprise Systems team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Manage vendor and ecosystem partnerships, ensuring alignment between external partners, internal teams, and enterprise objectives.

  • Provide coaching and guidance to ensure the team maintains deep Salesforce expertise and consistent delivery quality.

  • Establish, communicate, and enforce Salesforce platform best practices and standards, ensuring high-quality configuration, data integrity, automation, and security.

  • Maintain a strong connection between business needs and system capability, ensuring priorities are clear and outcomes are measurable.

  • Own the management, configuration, and optimization of the Salesforce platform (Sales and Service Clouds), ensuring performance, scalability, and data integrity.

  • Champion a Flow-first, Lightning-first approach to configuration and solution design, leveraging modern Salesforce capabilities and best practices.

  • Make sound technical architecture decisions for Salesforce solutions, balancing scalability with delivery speed, and contribute hands-on when the work requires it.

  • Partner with the Enterprise Integration team to ensure seamless connectivity and apply scalable integration patterns using Workato and Salesforce-native capabilities.

  • Oversee user access, role management, and platform compliance in coordination with IT and Security.

  • Provide administrative oversight for select satellite systems that interface directly with Salesforce, ensuring alignment and data consistency.

  • Maintain a delivery roadmap for Salesforce and regularly report on progress, risks, and platform health to senior leadership.

  • Deliver measurable improvements in platform performance, user adoption, automation maturity, and business process efficiency, aligned with organizational KPIs.

  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of Agile frameworks and change management processes, with the ability to rapidly assess, prioritize, and guide stakeholders through system changes.

  • Define detailed project scope and requirements that translate business and technology objectives into clear delivery plans.

  • Manage backlog and sprint planning to ensure continuous delivery of high-impact Salesforce enhancements.

  • Own prioritization of the Salesforce backlog, making clear calls on sequencing and tradeoffs in partnership with business stakeholders.

  • Work with subject matter experts to develop detailed work package definitions, estimates, and overall timelines for Salesforce initiatives.

  • Own the SDLC as it pertains to delivering solutions within the Salesforce platform (Sales and Service Clouds), continually assessing and improving processes to enhance quality, velocity, and scalability.

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders across Sales, Customer Success, Global Support, Finance, and Operations to ensure Salesforce supports business objectives and data consistency.

  • Maintain robust change control and governance processes to ensure Salesforce updates are tested, approved, and compliant with audit and security requirements.

  • Stay informed on emerging Salesforce AI, automation, and analytics capabilities, and lead initiatives that leverage these tools—such as Agentforce—to enhance usability, reporting, and efficiency.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve system usability, automation, and reporting.

  • Foster a culture of innovation within the team by encouraging learning, experimentation, and adoption of new Salesforce features.

  • Build strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders, ensuring Salesforce delivers measurable business value.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, translating needs into practical and scalable Salesforce solutions.

A minimum of 5+ years leading Salesforce platform teams or major cross-cloud initiatives is required. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation in Salesforce configuration, automation, and security, combined with the leadership ability to guide a distributed team of administrators and manage vendor partnerships. This role requires a seasoned leader who has successfully driven platform roadmaps, ensured scalability, performance, and data integrity across complex enterprise environments, and applied Salesforce best practices to deliver innovation, automation, and measurable business value. Experience integrating Salesforce with other business systems is essential.
