POSITION OVERVIEW
Job Summary
The Nurse Director in Training is primarily responsible to learn the duties of and assist the Assistant Director of Health Services and/or The Director of Health Services in managing the day-to-day functions of the overall health concerns of each resident, and the overall operation of the Nursing Services Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern long-term care facilities to assure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to our residents at all times.
Roles and Responsibilities
โ€ข Learns and understands the policies and procedures that govern the level of cares within your Health Campus.
โ€ข Learns to develop methods for coordination of nursing services with other resident services to ensure the continuity of the residents' total regimen of care.
โ€ข Learns to develop, implement, and maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the nursing service department
โ€ข Participates in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
โ€ข Follows all safety regulations, programs and policies, and procedures.
โ€ข Supports campuses, departmental goals, and the overall objectives of the Company.
โ€ข Follows the company's policies and procedures regarding resident complaints and/or grievances that indicate the action taken to resolve the complaint and the status of the complaint.
โ€ข Learns to determine the staffing needs of the nursing service department necessary to meet the total nursing needs of the residents.
โ€ข Assists the Assistant Director of Health Services and/or The Director of Health Services in the recruitment and selection of nursing service personnel.
โ€ข Participates in daily rounds of the nursing service department to ensure that all nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
โ€ข Reviews and audits resident electronic health records to ensure that they are informative and accurate for the nursing care being provided, that they reflect the resident's response to the care, and that such care is provided in accordance with the resident's wishes.
โ€ข Participates in daily rounds to observe residents and to determine if nursing needs are being met in accordance with the resident's request
โ€ข Monitors medication passes and treatment schedules to ensure that medications are being administered as ordered and that treatments are provided as scheduled.
โ€ข Provides direct nursing care as necessary.
โ€ข Identifies weekend management coverage and on-call duties on a rotating basis or as needed.
โ€ข Learns to lead campus programs, such as Clinical Care Meeting (CCM), Clinically at Risk Meeting (CAR), and Quality Assurance Program Improvement (QAPI).
โ€ข Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education: Associate Degree
Experience: 3-5 years
Licenses and Certifications
Must have and maintain a current unencumbered, valid state RN license and current, valid CPR certification required.
Physical Requirements
Sitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently during working hours. Must be able to lift at least 50lbs. Must be able to maintain verbal and written communication with co-workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and all business associates outside of the health campus.
