As a Lead Hardware Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and management of complex systems and solutions that drive innovation, safety, and efficiency in the aerospace industry. You will work within cross-functional teams on cutting-edge projects that transform the way aircraft operate. Your experience in hardware engineering will be instrumental in shaping the future of aerospace technology.
You will report directly to our Director of Engineering, working out of Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the development and delivery of cutting-edge solutions that support Honeywell's aerospace initiatives, helping to drive innovation and maintain our leadership in the industry.
Responsibilities
On our team, you will have the opportunity to work on next-generation and new product development projects, directly contributing to the advancement of aviation technology in the Airborne Traffic, Collision Avoidance & Surveillance Avionics space. You will have ownership for hardware engineering development.
  • Lead and coordinate hardware teams (board design, mechanical, FPGA, Safety etc.) in development of product hardware.
  • Develop project plans and support schedule development.
  • Requirements: Use DOORS to create and/or trace hardware requirements to higher and lower-level requirements including validation and verification.
  • Lead team to develop and perform hardware verification tests.
  • Lead customer interactions and ensure timely and successful delivery of programs within scope and budget.
  • Interface with Honeywell Aerospace production (factory) to produce hardware.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and mentor team members.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex issues under pressure.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in systems engineering.

Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelors or Masters in Electrical/Electronics/Aerospace Engineering or related fields.
  • 10+ years of experience in hardware design and development.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware design principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools.
  • Experience with hardware Validation and Verification.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience with DO-160 and DO-254 and strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers
