Job description

POSITION OBJECTIVE

Responsible for promoting the game of golf at the club

  • Develop and achieve department's budget, sales plan, and overall objectives
  • Direction and supervision of all golf operations employees
  • Oversight of golf shop, outside services, other golf operations
  • Promote professional instruction by developing golf clinics and programs
  • Execute tournaments and other special golf events

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for efficient and friendly customer service throughout the pro shop.
  • Direct golf shop operations by training, motivating, and conducting weekly staff meetings.
  • Develop sales and golf instruction goals while ensuring that all Company policies are followed.
  • Develop, implement, and direct aggressive Golf revenue sales, marketing and net revenue plans while following established budgeting and revenue guidelines. 
  • Direct and supervise all golf operations staff. This includes recruiting, selecting, performance management and development of a Service Excellence team of Employees that understand the relationships between value, Member Satisfaction and Member retention/attrition. 
  • Direct staff to execute and promote all Tournaments and other special golf events/functions at the Club to ensure coordination in all areas of operations (i.e. Food and Beverage). This includes promotion, scheduling, oversight, execution, and wrap up of all tournaments and golf events, etc. 
  • Provide professional instruction for Member/Guests 
  • PGA/LPGA Standards. Develop and promote golf clinics, private lessons, adult, junior and senior programs as directed
  • Oversee all aspects of outside golf operations and staff (Marshalls, Starters, and Golf Shop 
  • Attendants) to ensure proper performance while following all daily procedures and policies (i.e. staging area, range, golf cart storage, etc.) 
  • Promote the game of golf and promote the Club while maintaining a high level of professionalism and service. 
  • Develop relationships and satisfy the needs of Members by leading and/or serving on committees, conducting clinics for men, women, and juniors, giving golf lessons, and playing golf with Club Members and guests.
  • Ensure staff is effectively trained and follows close of business functions following guidelines and procedures established by the Club.
  • Provide an Annual Golf Calendar of activities and events for Members.
  • Assist fellow Employees, Members and guests to ensure delivery of the 3 steps of service without being directed. Be aware of team members, the environment, and participate as a member of the team.
  • Notify management of Member/Guest complaints at the time they occur. Practice good service recovery by rectifying any complaints as soon as possible.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS

  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, is required. College degree is preferred.
  • You have 5+yearsprofessional golf and customer service experience.
  • PGA/LPGA Professional Certification is required
  • You have previous direct financial and budget responsibility experience.
  • You can be trusted to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary Company information and sensitive employee matters, except as expressly authorized by the Company. 
  • You always perform at the highest level of ethical work standards.
  • You are comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments with frequent exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures and humidity.

  • Because of the fluctuating demands of the company's operation, it may be necessary that each 
  • Employee Partner perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other 
  • Employee Partners are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed.
  • Attend Club functions and committee meetings as required. 
  • Adhere to all of the various company, club and department written mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos, oral instructions, etc., all of which go to make up the essential functions of the job.
  • Communicate effectively with proper grammar.
  • Work well under pressure, coordinating multiple tasks at any given time 
  • Focus attention on detail.
  • Maintain good conduct and safe working habits while in all areas of the Club and assure that others are acting safely.
  • Attend daily line-up and participate as requested. 
  • Wear a CLEAN and neat uniform that follows Invited and your property uniform standards daily.
