Within Caterpillar's Resource Industries (RI) Division, we support some of the world's largest mining, quarrying, aggregates, and heavy construction operations through innovative products, technologies, and supply chain solutions.
Caterpillar is seeking a Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) coordinator and order board manager, for Large Track Type Tractors (LTTT) within the Resource Industries Tracked Products Division. As the S&OP Coordinator and order board manager, you will report to the Senior Manager of Sales and Operations Planning and will be primarily responsible for supporting customer inquiries for order lead time and managing new orders. You will also be responsible to develop an industry and sales forecast and recommend a machine production schedule. You will facilitate cross-functional collaboration and serve as a trusted advisor across Supply Chain, Operations, Orders & Scheduling, Business Resources, and Global Orders/S&OP teams to ensure seamless execution from forecasting through factory shipment. We have a fabulous team that does some of the most exciting work at Caterpillar, and we can't wait for you to join the team!
Additional Information:
  • This position requires the candidate to work onsite five days a week at the East Peoria, IL office.
  • Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.

  • This position may require up to 5% travel.

What You Will Do:
  • Serve as the primary contact for customer inquiries; providing feedback about lead time, planned timeline, order change, order reschedules, etc.
  • Manage and communicate machine ready to ship dates.
  • Analyze the industry demand to recommend an optimized factory production schedule while meeting customer delivery requirements.
  • Align customers order with sales production plan to achieve the monthly goal.
  • Supervise and control new sales orders, acting with urgency to communicate and drive actions downstream.
  • Forecast business results and identity risks and opportunities.

What skills you will have:
  • Forecasting and Demand Planning: You have experience gathering, interpreting, and analyzing demand data to support weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasting activities.
  • Data Gathering & Analysis: You can collect, synthesize, and evaluate information from multiple sources to support effective business decision-making.
  • Analytical Thinking: You can identify discrepancies, evaluate business challenges, determine root causes, assess risks and opportunities, and develop data-driven recommendations that improve outcomes.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: You understand the importance of precision and consistently deliver high-quality work while managing large volumes of detailed information.
  • Collaboration: You build strong working relationships across functions and effectively coordinate efforts to achieve shared goals.

Top Candidates Will Have:
  • Experience supporting a Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) environment.
  • Experience developing demand forecasts, production plans, capacity models, and operational reporting.
  • Experience presenting data and recommendations to operational leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Over 12 years of progressively responsible job-related knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Large Track Type Tractor machines, applications, and customers.
  • Experience working with supply chain and production scheduling teams.
  • Advanced skills in S&OP software and tools, such as: Salesforce, Excel, Cat Dealer Order Planning Tool, SAP.
  • A college or university degree.

Summary Pay Range:
$128,470.00 - $192,710.00
