Job Title: Fun In The Afternoon Program Employee
Reports To: Fun In The Afternoon Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Standard Hours per Week: Part-Time; based on program needs
Scheduled Days per Year: Based on the school calendar and after-school program schedule

Position Purpose

The FITA Program Employee provides a safe, nurturing, engaging, and Christ-centered environment for students following the regular school day. This position is responsible for actively supervising students, facilitating age-appropriate activities, supporting homework and enrichment opportunities, maintaining appropriate behavior expectations, and assisting with daily program operations.

The FITA Employee works collaboratively with the FITA Director, faculty, staff, students, and parents to ensure that students receive quality care in an environment that reflects Providence Christian Academyโ€™s mission, values, and commitment to the spiritual, social, emotional, and physical well-being of its students.


Essential FunctionsStudent Supervision and Safety
  • Provide active and attentive supervision of students at all times.
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, positive, and welcoming environment.
  • Monitor students during indoor activities, outdoor play, snack time, transitions, restroom breaks, and dismissal.
  • Follow all school safety, emergency, security, and student supervision procedures.
  • Ensure students remain in designated areas and are appropriately supervised during all activities.
  • Follow established student sign-in and sign-out procedures.
  • Ensure students are released only to authorized individuals in accordance with school procedures.
  • Report accidents, injuries, safety concerns, or other incidents promptly to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Never leave students unattended or unsupervised.
Christian Character and Spiritual Environment
  • Model Christian character, integrity, kindness, patience, respect, and responsibility.
  • Support and uphold the mission, values, and Christian principles of Providence Christian Academy.
  • Encourage students to demonstrate Christ-like behavior toward peers and adults.
  • Provide a positive environment that encourages spiritual growth and appropriate character development.
  • Participate in prayer, Scripture, devotional, or character-building activities as directed by the program.
