Job description

BPM Overview

At BPM, “Because People Matter” is more than a tagline—it’s the foundation of everything we do. As one of the largest California-based accounting firms with professionals across the country, we bring flexibility, innovation, and a people-first mindset to our clients and teams. Our diverse client base and collaborative environment create meaningful opportunities for growth and impact

Help Build a Growing Fiduciary Accounting Practice

BPM is seeking an experienced Fiduciary Accounting Manager to join our growing Fiduciary Accounting Services (FAS) practice. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional who enjoys technical fiduciary accounting, leading teams, building client relationships, and helping shape the future of a specialized practice.

We are looking for someone who wants more than just managing engagements. This role offers the opportunity to partner with firm leadership, work directly with attorneys and trustees, mentor staff across the U.S. and India, and play a meaningful role in expanding our Fiduciary Accounting Services practice.

Note: Candidates located near a BPM office will follow a hybrid work model, with 2–3 days per week in the office.

What you get:

Total rewards package: from flexible work arrangements to personalized benefit structures and financial compensation options that give you choice and flexibility.

Well-being resources: interactive wellness platform and incentives, an employee assistance program and mental health resources, and Colleague Resource Groups (CRGs) that provide safe spaces for colleagues to share, be heard, feel valued and deepen connections.

Balance & flexibility: 14 Firm Holidays including 2 floating, Flex PTO, paid family leave, winter break, summer hours, and remote work options, so you can balance challenging yourself with taking care of yourself.

Professional development opportunities: A learning culture with CPA exam resources and bonuses, a coach program, and live classes, workshops, and seminars through BPM University.

What You\'ll Do:

Client Service & Technical Leadership

  • Manage fiduciary accounting engagements for trusts, estates, conservatorships, and guardianships.
  • Review fiduciary accountings, trustee reports, and supporting schedules.
  • Interpret trust documents and apply fiduciary accounting principles.
  • Work directly with trustees, beneficiaries, attorneys, family offices, and other advisors.
  • Identify and resolve complex accounting and administration issues.
  • Ensure work products meet firm quality standards and applicable court requirements.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise, coach, and develop team members located in both the U.S. and India.
  • Review work and provide meaningful feedback and guidance.
  • Manage engagement budgets, staffing, workflow, and deadlines.
  • Assist in developing processes, training materials, and best practices.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture in a remote environment.

Practice Development

  • Build relationships with attorneys, trustees, and referral sources.
  • Participate in networking and business development activities.
  • Identify opportunities to expand services for existing clients.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and evolution of BPM\'s Fiduciary Accounting Services practice.

Required:

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 7+ years of fiduciary accounting, trust administration, estate administration, or related experience.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing fiduciary accountings.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience supervising and mentoring staff.
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred

  • CPA designation.
  • Experience with California fiduciary accountings and California Probate Code requirements.
  • Public accounting or professional services experience.
  • Experience working with offshore or distributed teams.
  • Existing relationships within the trust and estate community.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and referral sources.
  • Independently manage complex fiduciary accounting engagements.
  • Lead and develop team members across multiple locations.
  • Help improve operational efficiency and service quality.
  • Contribute to the growth and long-term success of BPM\'s Fiduciary Accounting Services practice.

Why BPM:

  • Opportunity to help build and shape a growing specialty practice
  • Direct interaction with firm leadership
  • Meaningful and challenging client work
  • Collaborative, entrepreneurial culture
  • Competitive compensation and benefits
  • Clear path for professional growth and advancement

If you\'re looking for an opportunity to make an impact, build relationships, lead a talented team, and help shape the future of a growing fiduciary accounting practice, we\'d love to meet you.

Candidates with fiduciary accounting, trust administration, estate administration, probate accounting, family office, or trust and estate tax backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
