Cherry Bekaert's Forensic & Dispute Advisory Services practice is seeking a Director to help lead complex forensic accounting, economic damages, and litigation support engagements while playing an active leadership role in growing the practice and scaling operations. This is a high-impact opportunity for a relationship-driven advisory leader to guide client engagements, mentor teams, expand client relationships, and help shape how the practice builds capacity for continued growth. In this role, you will work with clients and counsel across a wide range of industries, delivering clear financial analysis, damages assessments, dispute advisory work products in complex matters, and expert witness testimony as needed.

As a Director, you will:

  • Lead forensic accounting, economic damages, and litigation support engagements from strategy through delivery, helping clients and counsel understand complex financial issues

  • Guide the preparation and review of discovery requests, financial analyses, damages calculations, and engagement deliverables involving tax returns, financial statements, general ledgers, contracts, complaints/petitions, deposition transcripts, and related matter documents

  • Develop and review approaches to calculating or refuting damages in litigation matters, including the critique of opposing reports and related damages analyses

  • Manage multiple client relationships while communicating results, findings, and work product in a clear, practical, and timely manner

  • Participate at the leadership level in driving practice growth, expanding established and new client relationships, and helping scale the team's operating model as demand grows

  • Mentor and develop professionals across the team by sharing knowledge, modeling analytical rigor, and supporting career growth through thoughtful delegation and review

  • Contribute to a culture grounded in mutual respect, collaboration, trust, accountability, and excellence while helping the team deliver strong client outcomes

  • Provide expert witness testimony

What you bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or another relevant business discipline as well as advanced degree and/or professional certification such as CPA, CFF or CFE

  • Minimum 10+ years of related forensic/audit experience to include prior expert witness testimony within a national/regional public accounting or professional services firm

  • Advanced forensic accounting, economic damages, litigation support, audit, public accounting, or corporate accounting experience, including the ability to manage complex client assignments in deadline-driven environments

  • Proven ability to manage client relationships, lead teams, delegate work, review deliverables, and support multiple engagements with strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Demonstrated business development success, including experience expanding established client relationships and developing new opportunities

  • Strong command of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with exceptional written and verbal communication skills; previous experience employing AI/BI systems strongly preferred

  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing environments, work independently or within a group, and travel as needed, expected to be less than 25%

What you can expect from us:

  • Our shared values that foster inclusion and belonging including uncompromising integrity, collaboration, trust, and mutual respect

  • The opportunity to innovate and do work that motivates and engages you

  • A collaborative environment focused on enabling you to further your career growth and continuous professional development

  • Competitive compensation and a total rewards package that focuses on all aspects of your wellbeing
