What You’ll Be Doing

Under the direction of the Managing Director of Tax Credit Solutions, the Fixed Income (\"FI\") Financial Institutions Strategist collaborates with the sales team, tax credits team and the remainder of the fixed income strategies team in continuing to build and evolve Stifel's Tax Credit Desk. The FI Financial Institutions Strategist will lead deals with Fixed Income Clients seeking to purchase federal transfer tax credits, LIHTC, HTC, NMTC, and state tax credits. The Strategist will coordinate with tax credit sellers, law firms, accounting firms and other industry players to source tax credit inventory. They will also work with clients to help them understand the transfer tax credit trade, coordinate with clients to gain internal approval to do a trade, identify relevant advisors to assist the client, and serve as a market advisor across the transaction lifecycle.

What We’re Looking For
  • Partner with sales representatives and the remainder of strategies to serve Stifel's clients interested in exploring the tax credit strategy
  • Develop tax credit strategy recommendations which are communicated to banks via virtual and in-person presentations
  • Analyze tax credit inventory to match relevant offerings based on demand
  • Establish target client lists built in conjunction with broader strategies goals with accountability to maximize client touch and transaction volume
  • Continue to develop and refine tax credit inventory through new and existing seller relationships
  • Coordinate with team members to successfully manage banks along the transaction timeline
  • Support the Managing Director with project management, data analytics, modeling, etc. to support client meetings/presentations.
  • Additional duties and projects as assigned by the Managing Director of Tax Credit Solutions
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience in federal renewable energy tax credits
  • Experience with or familiarity with federal and state LIHTC, HTC, NMTC credits
  • Experience with or familiarity with state transferable tax credits
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Solid math and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business related field preferred
  • Professional designations preferred
  • 5+ years related experience required

  • Bloomberg experience preferred
