Managing Director, Financial Shared Services

Position Summary

The Managing Director, Shared Services, provides leadership and operational oversight across multiple core finance functions: Accounting Services and Treasury. This leader is responsible for ensuring high-quality service in the following areas, revenue accounting, transportation payables, credit and treasury services, servicing the needs of strategic operating partners and company owned locations.


Key Responsibilities
Accounting Services

Leads dedicated teams that deliver general accounting services to strategic operating partners, company owed location as well as external customers ensuring consistent quality, accuracy, and timely support. 

  • Monitor and manage the full lifecycle of accounts receivable (AR), transportation accounts payable (AP), credit, and collections activities, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality execution of all services.
  • Establish, cultivate, and maintain strong client relationships with strategic operating partners; serve as an escalation point for complex issues and a trusted advisor on financial matters.
  • Define and enforce service-level agreements (SLAs), performance metrics, and quality standards for strategic operating partners.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and technology enhancements to increase efficiency, scalability, and service quality.
  • Collaborate with corporate leadership and operating partner leadership to align accounting services with their strategic and operational objectives.
  • Establish and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors to support audit activities and ensure timely resolution of findings.
Treasury

Manages treasury activities of the organization amongst multiple business units, (U.S., Canada, Mexico & Asia)

  • Oversee all corporate treasury operations including cash management, intercompany balances, timely draws against facility as well as repayment of banking facility.
  • Manage the organization's banking users, credit limits; build and maintain productive relationships with banking partners.
  • Monitor and optimize the organization's credit facility.
  • Report treasury performance, risk exposure, and key metrics to executive leadership.

Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Serve as a key member of the financial leadership team, contributing to enterprise-wide planning and facilitating expansion of organization through M&A activities.
  • Represent the Finance function in cross-departmental initiatives, M&A due diligence, and strategic transactions as needed.
  • Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing team across all three functional areas; promote a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Expansion of our strategic network, ERP, and TMS.

QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or treasury, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing shared services or outsourced accounting functions for multiple business units.
  • Proven track record leading treasury operations, including cash management, risk mitigation, and corporate banking.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of treasury management principles and cash flow forecasting.
  • Exceptional client/employee relationship management skills with a client-first orientation.
  • Superior analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking capabilities with a sense of urgency.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and executive influencing skills.
  • Experience with SAP and CashPro highly desirable

Work Schedule & Environment

Schedule

  • Full-time schedule of minimum 8 hours per day with flexibility to complete all required job duties and responsibilities.

Environment

  • Climate-controlled office environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Standard office physical demands: sitting, walking, keyboarding, and use of close and distance vision.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $110,000 - $135,000 annually

Starting pay is based on multiple factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, skills, and job-related knowledge. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
