Job description

A Tier-1, publicly traded company in Irvine is seeking a Manager and/or Director of Financial Reporting to join its Corporate Accounting team. This role will support the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements, related supporting schedules filed with the SEC, and key corporate accounting activities tied to complex transactions and special projects.

This individual will work closely with Corporate Accounting, Operational Accounting, Investor Relations, FP&A, Treasury, and Legal, while also partnering directly with the Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer on financial statement disclosures, special projects, and transaction-related activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Manager coming out of the Big 4 who is looking to transition into industry with one of the few S&P 500 companies in Orange County, offering world-class benefits, a hybrid schedule, and outstanding long term career growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements
  • Support preparation of financial reporting schedules for Forms 10-K and 10-Q
  • Prepare and manage the tie-out of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements
  • Assist with other SEC filings, including 8-Ks and offering documents
  • Participate in technical accounting projects and special initiatives
  • Research, document, and support accounting conclusions and related disclosures included in the Company's consolidated financial statements
  • Assist with the research, evaluation, and implementation of new accounting standards
  • Perform complex corporate accounting functions, including areas such as acquisitions and dispositions and capital markets
  • Serve as a liaison across multiple departments, including Accounting, Investor Relations, FP&A, Treasury, and Legal

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • CPA required
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally with a Big 4 firm and/or a publicly traded company
  • Strong experience researching, resolving, documenting, and communicating technical accounting and SEC reporting matters
  • Experience with Yardi, BPC, OneStream, and/or Workiva is a plus
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and building schedules/files from scratch
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
