Qualifications

* 2-4+ years of fiber optic installation experience (5-7 years preferred).

* Experience installing, terminating, testing, troubleshooting, and splicing fiber optic cabling.

* Proficient with both single-mode (SMF) and multi-mode (MMF) fiber systems.

* Experience terminating various fiber connectors including LC, SC, ST, FC, SMA, FDDI, and MPO/MTP.

* Experience with inside plant and outside plant fiber, including:

* Loose tube fiber breakout and termination

* Tight-buffered fiber termination

* Fan-out kit installation

* Simplex and duplex jumper termination

* Ability to perform mechanical and fusion splicing, including building entrance, maintenance, and direct-buried splices.

* Experience testing and troubleshooting fiber using:

* OTDR

* Fluke DTX 180

* Power Meter/Light Source (PMLS)

* Ability to identify and resolve network and end-to-end fiber issues.

* Basic copper cabling and termination experience, including CAT3/CAT5 terminations, patch panels, and 66/110 blocks.

*Knowledge of TIA/EIA standards and fiber loss budget calculations.
