Job description

Director, Treasury

The Director, Treasury is a key corporate leader responsible for shaping and managing the company’s investment strategy within a growing electrical contracting organization. This role oversees the selection, allocation, and performance of a diversified investment portfolio—balancing growth opportunities with disciplined risk management and compliance. The director ensures our financial investments support long‑term stability and strategic expansion across the business.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Investment Strategy & Asset Allocation: Develop and execute the Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA) strategy. You decide the “mix”—e.g., when to rotate out of volatile tech stocks and into stable government bonds.

  • Manager Selection & Due Diligence: Identify and vet external fund managers. You conduct deep‑dive audits on their track records, investment philosophies, and operational risks.

  • Performance Attribution: Analyze why the portfolio performed the way it did. You use Sharpe ratios, Alpha/Beta metrics, and Monte Carlo simulations to report on risk‑adjusted returns.

  • Macroeconomic Research: Interpret global economic shifts (inflation, interest rate hikes, geopolitical events) and pivot the portfolio to protect capital or seize emerging opportunities.

  • Fiduciary & Regulatory Oversight: Ensure all investment activities comply with SEC, ERISA, or local financial conduct authorities. Lead the Investment Committee meetings to provide transparency to stakeholders.

  • The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. This is not a complete listing, and other duties will be assigned based on the position’s role within the business unit.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
  • Designations: CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) is almost always a requirement for this level. A CPA or CAIA (Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst) is a strong plus.

  • Software Mastery: Expert proficiency in Bloomberg Terminal, Morningstar Direct, or FactSet for real‑time market data and analytics.

  • Quantitative Skills: Ability to build complex valuation models and stress‑test portfolios against “Black Swan” economic scenarios.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US
  • 12+ years in institutional investing, buy‑side research, or portfolio management.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in Finance or Economics) preferred.

TRAVEL
  • Up to 20%
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning.

  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

  • We fully comply with the ADA and applicable state law, including considering reasonable accommodation measures that may enable qualified disabled applicants and employees to perform essential functions.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
