Director Expedition Leaders typically have extensive experience in outdoor leadership, navigation, and emergency response. Their expertise ensures expeditions run smoothly and safely, providing a rewarding experience for all involved.

A Director Expedition Leader works closely with a range of professionals, including logistics coordinators, scientists, safety officers, and local guides, to ensure the success and safety of each expedition. They facilitate clear communication across all team members, delegate responsibilities based on expertise, and mediate any challenges that arise during planning or in the field. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to align everyone's efforts toward shared objectives while adapting to changing conditions. Regular briefings and debriefings are common to keep the team informed and engaged throughout the expedition.

Job description

Project Expedition, a rapidly growing travel company, is seeking a Team Leader for our Content Development Team. As part of our Supplier Partnerships Department, this role is focused on leading supplier onboarding and content quality, ensuring new tour operators are set up for success on our platform from day one. If you enjoy building processes, working cross-functionally, and helping partners succeed, this could be a great fit.
The right candidate will lead by example, while onboarding new suppliers, managing early-stage relationships, and ensuring high-quality content and seamless integrations. You'll play a key role in scaling our supply inventory and improving how we bring new experiences onto the platform. This is a hybrid role where you'll lead a small team while also staying hands-on as an individual contributor.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team focused on onboarding new suppliers
  • Own the onboarding process from initial engagement through activation
  • Serve as the main point of contact for suppliers during onboarding
  • Partner with technical teams to support integrations and resolve issues
  • Ensure all supplier content meets quality standards and is optimized for conversion
  • Improve onboarding workflows, documentation, and playbooks
  • Track and drive performance against onboarding KPIs (time to launch, activation, quality)
  • Identify bottlenecks and continuously improve processes
  • Collaborate with product, operations, and commercial teams to share insights and improve the platform
  • Analyze supplier and onboarding data to drive better outcomes
  • Support early-stage supplier success through guidance and best practices
  • Leverage AI to optimize and automate repetitive tasks and processes
The ideal candidate:
  • Experience leading or mentoring a team
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Clear and effective communicator
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally, including with technical teams
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong relationship-building skills
  • Experience working with external partners or vendors
  • Marketplace, onboarding, or travel industry experience is a plus
Benefits include:
  • Annual company bonus (up to a total of $3,000, based on company targets - deferred eligibility)
  • 15 days of leave (increases to 20 days at 2 years tenure)
  • Company Healthcare Plan (Company contribution $9K with 2 completely covered plans)
  • 401K company plan
  • Annual work from home budget $500
  • Annual training budget of $250
  • TSA Precheck (worth $80)
  • Annual Project Expedition tour credits of $750
  • Employee discounts on thousands of tours and activities
Additional Information
While we're excited to grow our team across the U.S., we're currently unable to hire employees residing in California or New York.
Please note that while this is a remote position, it is not suitable for digital nomads. Employees must be based in the United States and will have an allocation of time that they can work remotely in other destinations.
Project Expedition is growing quickly, and this role will likely evolve over time. You'll have the opportunity to make a direct impact on how we scale our supply and onboarding efforts, while also shaping your own career path. This role is great for someone who is comfortable with ambiguity, works independently, and is always looking for ways to improve how things are done.
