Sentara Therapy Center Suffolk YMCA is hiring a Clinical Exercise Specialist

The Clinical Exercise Specialist administers therapy treatments under the direct supervision oflicensedleader. Provides quality exercise and health education for patients, assuring a safe, pleasant, and professional atmosphere. Productive and efficient in daily operations. Establishes and updates the exercise program to address the Client/participant's needs.

Supervises andassistsclients/participants with their daily exercise sessions, ensuring client/participant safety. Provides effective instruction to Clients/participants and their families through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training. Supports the health education needs of the center. Supports Therapist(s)/Providers in providing effective treatment plans. Documents patient response to treatment. Completes other clinical duties as assigned. Demonstratesabilityto offer support and potential enhancements of services.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Health Science, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Recreational Therapy, Physical Education,orClinical Exercise Physiology.

Experience

  • 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
