What is a Director Epicor?

A Director Epicor is a senior management professional responsible for overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the Epicor enterprise resource planning (ERP) system within an organization. They lead teams that manage ERP projects, ensure alignment with business processes, and drive efficiencies through technology. The Director Epicor collaborates with stakeholders to develop strategies, resolve issues, and ensure the ERP system supports the company's goals. Epicor Administrator

Job description

Position summary

We are seeking a hands-on Epicor Administrator to own the day-to-day administration of its Epicor

ERP environment for its U.S. operation while also serving as the primary point of contact for general IT support at the site. This is a broad, single-owner role that blends ERP system administration with practical end-user and infrastructure support. It suits someone who is equally comfortable managing ERP security roles and setting up a new employee's laptop.

The U.S. business operates within a corporate structure headquartered in Germany, so the successful candidate will collaborate periodically with the corporate office and should be comfortable working across time zones and with international colleagues.

This role carries an important early-tenure project. The U.S. operation is being carved out of a shared Epicor environment that it currently inherits from the seller/former parent, where multiple businesses live inside a single database. That environment cannot simply be copied, because doing so would carry the seller's data with it. The business therefore needs its own segregated Epicor instance — an Azure-hosted environment is the preferred target — with the data properly separated, cloned, validated through UAT, and brought live without disrupting Operations.

No implementation/consulting partner is engaged yet, so in the near term this person will be a key internal owner of the migration alongside whichever partner is ultimately selected. Candidates who have lived through an Epicor migration, environment clone, or ERP data-segregation project will be especially valuable. This is a high-visibility opportunity to shape the environment from the ground up.

ERP administration (primary focus)

• Manage user access, provisioning, and de-provisioning within Epicor.

• Administer security groups, roles, and permissions; enforce least-privilege access and segregation-of-duties controls.

• Maintain system configuration, company/site setup, and core master-data integrity.

• Troubleshoot user issues, manage support tickets, and act as the liaison to Epicor support and (once engaged) the implementation partner.

• Support patching, upgrades, environment refreshes, and testing cycles.

Migration & environment project (near-term)

• Support the carve-out of the U.S. environment into its own segregated Epicor instance (Azure-preferred).

• Assist with cloning the environment, standing up test/UAT environments, and coordinating user acceptance testing.

• Validate data accuracy post-migration and confirm that business processes are not broken by the cutover.

• Coordinate with the corporate office and the future consulting partner on architecture and cutover planning.

General IT support (secondary/a plus not a requirement)

• Set up, image, and support end-user laptops and workstations.

• Provide first-line support for networking, connectivity, and everyday IT issues at the site.

• Support endpoint security and general IT security hygiene.

• Manage relationships with local IT vendors and service providers as needed.

Required qualifications

• Hands-on Epicor administration experience — managing user access, security roles, and permissions in Epicor (Kinetic / Epicor 10 or comparable).

• Working knowledge of ERP security concepts (roles, groups, least-privilege, segregation of duties).

• Strong troubleshooting skills and the self-direction to operate as the site's primary IT/ERP owner.

• Clear communicator able to work with both shop-floor/office end users and corporate stakeholders.

• Located within approximately a few hour drive of the site, or willing to relocate

Preferred qualifications

• Direct experience with an Epicor migration, environment clone, or ERP data-segregation / carve-out project.

• Exposure to Azure-hosted ERP environments or cloud migration of on-prem ERP.

• Manufacturing / distribution industry background (the environment supports a manufacturing operation).

• Experience running UAT cycles and post-migration data validation.

• Comfort collaborating with an international (Germany-based) corporate IT function.
