Job description

Position Overview:

ANSER is seeking a 5G/6G Subject Matter Expert to support the Department of War (DoW) Chief Information Officer (CIO). In this role, you will support the development and execution of the DoW 5G/6G enterprise strategy through architectural design, standards development, and enterprise implementation while providing technical guidance on interoperability, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Support the development, implementation, and maturation of the DoW 5G/6G enterprise strategy.
  • Lead or support the planning, organization, and execution of 5G/6G projects and programs.
  • Apply 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) 5G/6G standards to address complex technical challenges and develop advanced system designs.
  • Provide cybersecurity expertise to support the security and defense of 5G/6G technologies and networks.
  • Support the development of architectural solutions and operational metrics for 5G wireless broadband infrastructure across DoW military installations.
  • Support the development of the DoW 5G Reference Architecture to promote interoperability across hardware, software, infrastructure, and end-user environments.
  • Provide technical recommendations on requirements, standards and policy, acquisition and sustainment, and technology transitions.
  • Engage DoW stakeholders to support the timely and cost-effective delivery of 5G/6G guidance, standards, policies, and solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • 20+ years of experience in 5G/6G telecommunications, wireless network architecture, telecommunications systems engineering, or related communications technologies.
  • PhD in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a similar field. Will accept a master's degree with two additional years of related experience.
  • Expertise in 3GPP 5G and emerging 6G standards, architecture, and system design.
  • Experience with wireless broadband infrastructure and large-scale or enterprise deployments.
  • Experience applying cybersecurity principles to 5G/6G networks, architectures, and threat environments.
  • Experience developing technical architectures, operational metrics, and reference models for telecommunications systems.
  • Experience solving complex technical problems involving next-generation communications technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting C3 operations, policy, or governance forums.
  • Prior experience supporting an Office of the Secretary of War (OSW)-level organization.
