  • Regularly present plans and project updates to senior executives including the CPO, CFO, and Platform leadership team
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of Platform Billing systems across multiple cloud providers
  • Ensure optimal performance, security, and cost-efficiency of billing infrastructure
  • Lead the implementation of best practices for system reliability and scalability
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of infrastructure engineers
  • Foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence
  • Recruit and develop exceptionally talented engineers and managers across the globe to build a diverse team
  • Work closely with product, engineering, IT, and finance teams to align billing initiatives with business objectives
  • Scope and lead large cross-functional projects with significant business impact at Elastic
  • Ensure billing systems meet customer needs while supporting company growth objectives
  • Ensure our billing systems adhere to industry security standards and compliance requirements
  • Implement proactive security measures to protect sensitive financial data
  • Maintain appropriate controls for financial reporting systems
What You Bring
  • A track record of running highly effective development teams with an ability to manage both managers and engineers
  • Experience with performance management (promotions, PIPs, development plans, terminations) and ability to coach managers through difficult situations
  • A compassionate approach to communication and a genuine interest in the success and growth of the people you work with
  • Previous experience as a hands-on software engineer with strength in computer science fundamentals
  • Experience owning large-scale distributed systems across multiple regions in AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
  • Extensive technical expertise in high volume data pipelines and data processing systems
  • Operational experience demonstrating a deep understanding for service resiliency and feature quality
  • Experience leading complex engineering projects that cross multiple teams and organizations
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Ability to effectively present to senior executives including CPO, CFO, and Platform leadership
