EGC Process and Utility Piping Foreman
EGC Construction, an operating unit of Messer Construction Co., is currently seeking a piping foreman for the Process/Utility Piping Systems in the Food and Beverage and Pharmaceutical Industries.
EGC employs more than 120 skilled craft workers that focus on safety, quality and customer satisfaction. We offer general, commercial and industrial construction including electrical work, millwrights, pipe fitters and structural steel detailers.
Headquarters in Newport, Kentucky and have been servicing local, regional, and international clients since 1978. EGC is committed to the safety and continuous improvement of our safety systems. What You Will Do:
  • Mentor and help to grow lead craft workers
  • Manage contract administration (subcontract/field management meeting for communication)
  • Read and interpret P&IDs
  • Understand isometric drawings and build according to the drawings
  • Understand specification books and ensure the correct materials are used
  • Understand welding procedures and identify acceptable and unacceptable welds
  • Develop a program to maintain strong client relations with on - site staff
  • Initiate and attend supplemental and regular meetings with clients for problem resolution and planning
  • Manage site labor to meet or exceed labor productivity goals
  • Assist Project Managers in preparing necessary labor, materials, rental equipment and schedule extensions for change orders
  • Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover
  • Maintain daily for record keeping purposes
  • Ensure that all performance evaluations are completed in a timely fashion for direct reports
  • Recommend, where appropriate, organizational, policy and procedural or staff changes

What You Will Bring:
  • 8+ years construction experience (3+ years in a foreman/leadership capacity)
  • OSHA 30 Certified
  • Must be a self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding procedures and software programs
  • Ability to identify and help resolve any problems that may arise
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning and contract administration
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Candidates must have reliable transportation
  • Be willing to work within a 75-mile radius. Willingness to travel to other states for work is a plus
  • Be able to work in a variety of seasonal and weather conditions
