Job description

Reports to: Supervisor, Kitchen
Position Overview:
The Senior Kitchen Technician assists in the preparation and production of cannabis infused
edible products. Under limited guidance from the Supervisor, Kitchen, the Kitchen Technician
mixes ingredients in order to manufacture cannabis infused recipes as directed, following food
safety standards. The Senior Kitchen Technician is responsible for ensuring stock and inventory
goods are fresh and up-to-date and not expired. The Senior Kitchen Technician may mentor
kitchen staff and provide guidance on safe production principles and regulatory guidelines.
They will have an active role in developing, writing and enforcing SOP's and serve as subject
matter experts in the production of food for the Cannabist Company.
Major Areas of Responsibility include:
  • Prep ingredients and production of edible products including chocolate, gummy drops
    and lozenges
  • Follow daily production list to maintain stock of finished goods
  • Comply with rules and state regulations for food safety and edible production
  • Prepare samples for testing
  • Package and label edible products
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge & Abilities):
  • All applicants must be at least 21 years of age
  • A High School diploma or GED is required. Formal education in food production and/or
    culinary arts is preferred
  • Minimum of two years of kitchen/food service experience
  • ServeSafe Certification is preferred
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Strong interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and problem-solving skills.

Additional Abilities Required:
  • The job requires physical activity, including prolonged standing, repetitive bending,
    climbing, and lifting or moving up to 40 pounds (or more with a coworker).
  • Good visual acuity, hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and ability to perform repetitive
    motions with accuracy is required.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
