Job description

The Role: The Security Shift Manager is assigned to either the day, swing, or graveyard shift and oversees all security patrol operations across LVCVA property during the shift. This role leads the security shift supervision teams and ensures departmental consistency in best practices, compliance, and service delivery. What You'll Accomplish: Keep in mind that this list is not all-inclusive.

Lead An Extraordinary Team: Lead, mentor, and evaluate the security shift supervision teams (both security and perimeter security), ensuring alignment with LVCVA safety and security standards. Oversee incident investigations and review reports for accuracy, thoroughness, and timely completion; escalate critical issues to senior leadership. Develop, coordinate, and implement training for the shift and organize ongoing drills for emergency preparedness.

Support Event Holders: Coordinate security planning for large-scale events, collaborating closely with internal and external event operations, contractors, and outside agencies. Ensure Preparedness and Response: Manage department schedules and overtime, maintaining adequate coverage while controlling costs. Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including firearms and emergency response certifications, and address deficiencies proactively.

Analyze post-event and incident debriefs to propose ongoing safety and process improvements. Conduct thorough internal administrative investigations as assigned by the Vice President of Security. Serve as the acting Department Head in the absence of the Senior Manager or Vice President of Security.

What We're Looking For: High School Diploma is required; a bachelor's degree in justice studies, criminal justice, or a related field is preferred. At least three years of progressive supervisory or management experience in security or law enforcement environments. Verifiable record of operational leadership, successful team management, and cross-functional collaboration.

Skilled in: Responding to situations that may require the use of defensive tactics to defend oneself or others in a situation that may present imminent harm or danger. Effectively performing during strenuous circumstances, including medical events, fires, active assailants, and various other emergency situations. Demonstrating emotional stability during periods of tension and stress.

Meeting and dealing with the public courteously and effectively. Effectively collecting information and writing various reports in English with appropriate spelling and grammar. Advanced verbal and written communication with all levels, recognizing and overcoming barriers.

Must be able to: Lift, drag, and move more than 100 pounds, e.g., a human who may be incapacitated. See distance, color, peripherally, and have depth perception with the ability to adjust focus. Run, climb, stand, squat, and sit for prolonged periods of time

Subdue, drag, carry, and lift persons and objects. Be heard and hear in noisy group settings and situations. Reasonable availability beyond scheduled hours for unforeseen or emergency matters Must obtain a State of Nevada, Clark County, Concealed Firearms Permit within 90 days of appointment and maintain a valid permit throughout employment.

Must qualify with and carry a firearm while on duty. Must have a valid Nevada driver's license and keep it current during employment. Must complete additional certifications/licenses as directed by the Vice President of Security.
