Tech Modernization Lead

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Tech Modernization Lead is responsible for driving application modernization initiatives across Signet, focusing on addressing end-of-life resources such as outdated operating systems and database versions. This role ensures that the technical strategy aligns with business objectives, leads cross-functional teams, and delivers secure, scalable, and resilient solutions. The position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to manage complex modernization projects.

In this role, you will:

  • Define and execute a strategic modernization roadmap aligned with business goals.
  • Drive AI-first modernization using Signet's AI platforms and foundation.
  • Create, monitor, analyze, and report on tech modernization metrics while recommending improvements or course corrections
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the application development teams to deliver on the modernization roadmap while reducing our EOL footprint.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute modernization roadmaps and strategies for applications and infrastructure
  • Identify, prioritize, and remediate end-of-life resources (OS, databases, etc.)
  • Drive the utilization of Gen AI technologies to complete tech modernization activities while reporting on the business outcome and impact
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver modernization projects aligned with business goals
  • Monitor progress, report on modernization metrics, and drive continuous improvement

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required; Master's preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in application modernization, infrastructure, or related technical roles
  • 3+ years in a leadership role managing technical teams and projects
  • Proven experience with remediation of end-of-life resources and legacy systems
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture, cloud migration, and modernization best practices
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects

Technical/Other Skills Required

  • Expertise in operating systems, database platforms, and application modernization tools
  • Advanced proficiency in cloud technologies and migration strategies
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Copilot, and relevant engineering software

The salary range for this opportunity is $120,000 - $150,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience, among other factors.
