Job description

Starkey is seeking a strategic and creative Director of Communications to lead all internal and external communications, branding, advertising, media relations, and reputation management efforts. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving on the leadership team, this role will help advance Starkey's mission, strengthen community awareness, and ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute communications, branding, and marketing strategies.
  • Serve as the organization's primary media and public affairs contact.
  • Create and oversee content for publications, websites, social media, videos, and email communications.
  • Manage relationships with advertising agencies, media buyers, and community partners.
  • Promote agency events, fundraising initiatives, and special programs.
  • Ensure brand consistency and organizational messaging across all communication channels.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to organizational leadership.
  • Represent Starkey at community, business, and public events.

Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.

Experience:
  • Minimum five (5) years of communications or public relations leadership experience.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Experience with graphic design, website management, special event promotion, and media relations.
  • Nonprofit experience preferred.
