The University of Iowa Division of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Department of Internal Medicine is recruiting a board-certified/board-eligible heart failure cardiologist to serve as the Director of the Cardiomyopathy Section of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. This position is in the rank of Associate Professor or Professor on the tenure or clinical (non-tenure) track, depending on qualifications.

The candidate will spend time in outpatient clinic, including outreach clinics, rounding on inpatient cardiomyopathy service, assisting in donor call and endomyocardial biopsies.

Successful candidates will be required to self-disclose any misconduct history or pending research misconduct investigation including but not limited to sexual misconduct in prior employment and provide a related release and will be subject to a criminal background and credential check.

Education Requirement:

M.D. degree or equivalent

Required Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have completed a cardiology fellowship and an accredited advanced heart failure fellowship program.

Candidates must have at least three years of hands-on experience in cardiology, specifically focusing on heart failure, transplantation and mechanical support.

A demonstrated record of scholarly work and administrative leadership is required.

Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment is also required.

Certifications:

Board certified or board eligible in cardiovascular diseases.

Desirable Qualifications:

Applicants with evidence of a strong commitment to clinical research and teaching are preferred.
